How to make a paper bag activity book to keep the kiddos busy this summer
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -With the kids being out of school, summer can be a tricky time for parents.
If you’re struggling to keep them entertained, Purple Turtle Art Studio owner LeAnn Hale recommends letting them dive into the world of arts and crafts.
She stopped by The Three to show us how to make a paper bag activity book.
Some supplies you’ll need include colored pencils, markers, paint or crayons, tape, cutout paper animals, glue and of course paper bags.
To start creating your book, fold the paper bags in half and stack them so they are all on the same side and facing the same way.
“You can decide how many pages you want to have in your paper bag book,” Hale said. “This one has 10.”
Next, glue the bags on top of each other.
“You want to keep the fold at the same spot over here, so that once you get them all stacked up, you’re fold is in the back so you have your spine,” Hale added.
Make sure to tape up your spine so it’s secure.
The kiddos can decorate their books any way they’d like with whatever art supplies you have on hand.
To make it more of an activity book, you can find Hale’s printable animal cutouts online.
The paper animals can be stored inside the paper bag pockets of the book.
